Yesterday we went to The Christmas-shopping in Brugge, Simon Stevin place in Brugge. With "Baliehof Farmhouse-Cheese" we have there a little stall where we present our cheese to costumers from allover the world who visit Brugge. Yesterday we had there a 50-year-old couple from USA, Texas as tourists in Brugge. When they taste our cheese, the woman (with the name of Krista) was very excited about the soft feeling and the good taste that she said that "it tastes like butter".
That is maybe little bit strange, because when I was there in Texas in 2009, we visit a shop with several cheese from the area, and 90% of them were hard cheese as cheddar and stilton cheese. Only 10% were soft cheese or youngcheese like we make on the farm, the Gouda cheese and brie and "washed skin cheese" like Permeke and "Paterskaas".
We had a very good conversation with that Texan couple and they promised us to come back to our shop to order some cheese (and pay) to send to some relatives in the USA. Now I have to ask to the postmen what this must cost to send to there, and how long it will take to arrive there. That is maybe little bit strange, because when I was there in Texas in 2009, we visit a shop with several cheese from the area, and 90% of them were hard cheese as cheddar and stilton cheese. So, if you are tourist and you visit Brugge, don't forget to come to the Simon Stevin place, you will find us there richt in front of the stature of Simon Stevin. We are there available every day till 3 januari, I think.
If you take some pictures there of us, please send them to our mailadres
